Remove Blackheads – Easy Tips For Successful Treatment

If you’ve had blackheads, you know how unsightly they can be. They’re ugly, dirty looking, and they seem to just come from nowhere and not go away, no matter how much we try to make them. So when it comes to how to remove blackheads, can we really do it and not scar? And can we get rid of acne once and for all, so that we never have to worry about them again?

Getting rid of blackheads may seem like it can never happen, but that’s not true. Some products on the market, including those that exfoliate and contain benzoyl peroxide, can be very effective on how to remove blackheads without leaving scarring. And, these methods treat other types of acne breakouts pretty effectively, too.

A lot of these treatments can be pretty caustic, so be careful; if you have sensitive skin, you’ll certainly want to still know how to remove blackheads, but you’ll need to protect your skin while you do so. Products with salicylic acid in them are often gentler than those with benzoyl peroxide and can still be effective at clearing your skin by unclogging pores and exfoliating so that acne never gets to rear its ugly head, so to speak, in the first place.

Are you prone to acne?

Teenagers especially are prone to acne because they are in a state of life whereby they are very subject to hormones, with fluctuations; you might not know, though, that if you are approaching middle age or menopause, you can be prone to acne, too. The same hormonal fluctuations that made you prone to acne as a teenager may also cause acne in your middle years. Besides hormonal fluctuations, diet, poor hygiene, makeup products, and excess oil production can also cause acne.

Some of these things you can help, and some you can’t. However, you can certainly give yourself a leg up, so to speak, when it comes to taking care of how to get rid of blackheads by taking care of those things you can help.

Practice good hygiene, gently

Depending on where you’re experiencing most of your acne breakouts, washing your face or showering on a regular basis, at least once a day and sometimes twice a day, can help prevent breakouts. When you wash, use a mild soap or a cleanser especially formulated for acne, and wash GENTLY, to avoid irritation. If you irritate your acne, you’ll only make breakouts worse and you can cause scarring, too.

Diet matters, too

No, we’re not talking about going on some fad diet. But if you eat a lot of greasy food, or if a lot of your diet is comprised of junk food, you’re giving acne a perfect environment to flourish in. Focus on fresh, healthy foods, lean proteins, and plenty of fruits and vegetables to help support your skin so that it can heal from current acne breakouts and avoid further ones.

Minimizing the oil and grease you get in your diet (especially of the saturated fat variety) is going to help minimize breakouts, because excess dietary oil is acne’s perfect food. You do need small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fats, though, in your diet.
