What is rosacea?

Rosacea is basically a problem of the skin that causes it to swell and redden and often happens in the face. Because there are no lab tests to diagnose it, most people mistake rosacea with an acne breakout. The usual symptoms include the appearance of small blood vessels on the face, an enlarged nose, occurrence of small pustules and specific redness over the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin of a person.

Is Acne Rosacea Actually A Form Of Acne?

Acne rosacea is a fairly common skin disease. Due to the disease, red spots that are similar to pimples appear on the faces of the individuals. Nevertheless these spots are not pimples but expanded blood vessels that appear through the skin, {creating} red color dots on various areas of the face. Acne rosacea mainly appears on the chin, the forehead and on the lower part of the nose. The name acne rosacea may not actually be the proper name for the skin condition as the name is merely rosacea and acne is mentioned here because of the similarity between the two.

Acne is such a common condition for teenagers to suffer from, but luckily in most cases they will grow out of it, even if it can take some considerable time.  For many adults, though, the condition known as acne rosacea (or just rosacea) may occur on their face, making them think they have gone back to their teenage years and are once again suffering from acne.
